Regular Care

Martha Sims Decker was born on April 2, 1928 in Wisconsin. She married Sam Decker in 1948.  A retired school teacher, Martha devoted much of her life to working with and saving animals. In the 1990's she was very involved in The Ozaukee County Humane Society and was instrumental in establishing the first physical shelter in the area. The Ozaukee County Humane Society now is one of the three campuses of The Wisconsin Humane Society. Martha and Sam moved to Horseshoe Bend in the late 1990's where they continued to be involved in animal welfare. Martha was an active member of Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animals, volunteering at the animal control and participating in the Spay/Neuter Clinics held there. Martha was an accomplished artist, concentrating her paintings on animals, especially  horses. Martha died October 19, 2009. The Martha Decker Fund for Animals was established in 2012 through a bequest from her estate and continues today as a 501(c)3 non-profit to help with spay/neuter funding and bettering the lives of animals in Izard, Sharp, and Fulton Counties and surrounding areas.
